Legal and trade names, USDOT and MC numbers, operating authority status, safety rating, cargo authorisations, fleet size, driver counts, reported annual mileage and the city, state and ZIP on file.

Where it comes from

All data sourced from public data from The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Motor Carrier Census.

What you are actually paying for

The underlying records are public and free at the source, and we say so on every page. What this product is, is the work between that source and a usable answer: collecting the data on a schedule, normalising fields that mean different things in different places, joining datasets the publisher keeps apart, and making the result queryable and cross-referenceable in ways the source does not offer. Where we compute something the source does not publish — a rate, a ranking, a comparison — the page says it is ours and shows the arithmetic behind it.

We do not claim ownership of the underlying facts, we do not resell the source, and nothing here is a substitute for the official record. Every page links to it.

How often it refreshes

Collected daily. This copy currently holds 15,813 records, last collected on 2026-09-08.

How accurate it is

Carriers update their own filings, so some records are stale at the source. The agency’s record is authoritative and we link it on every carrier page. We do not publish street addresses or telephone numbers, because many registrants are sole proprietors for whom those are personal details. Two things about how this set is built. It deliberately holds both currently registered carriers and ones deactivated recently, with the deactivated ones over-represented so that case is visible at all — so a proportion here describes this dataset, never US carriers as a whole. And FMCSA’s census carries no deactivation date: “deactivated within the past year” means the carrier filed its last MCS-150 within a year and its registration now reads inactive, which is a strong signal but an inference, not a date the agency published.

These pages are an early release with deliberately partial coverage while the collection pipeline is proven out. Everything shown is real data from the source named above — there is no sample or placeholder content — but the record count is a fraction of what the source holds, and some fields are not yet populated for every record.

Corrections and removals

If a record is wrong, correcting it at the official source is what fixes it everywhere; our copy follows on the next collection. If you need a record suppressed here in the meantime, tell us which one and we will act on it within 72 hours. We never alter or delete the underlying source data — suppression happens when the page is served.
